PT GAN Launches Lemongrass Cultivation Program to Preserve Environment and Empower Community
Kubu Raya - PT Graha Agro Nusantara (GAN), together with the community of Muara Baru Village, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan, has officially launched a Lemongrass Cultivation Program. This initiative is a concrete step in preserving the environment, especially the Kapuas Delta – Sungai Ambawang Protected Forest area as an Orangutan habitat, and supporting the welfare of the local community.
The planting ceremony, attended by various relevant parties, including representatives of local governments and non-governmental organizations, marked the beginning of this cooperation. The Head of Muara Baru Village, Suryadi, expressed his appreciation for the support of PT GAN and hopes that this program can provide long-term benefits for the community.
The lemongrass cultivation program is the result of a collaboration between PT GAN, KPH Kubu Raya, the Muara Baru Village Government, the Village Forest Management Institution (LDPH), and the Village Social Forestry Business Group (KUPS) of Muara Baru Village. This partnership is expected to become a model for environmental conservation and community empowerment efforts in other regions.
