PT Agriprima Cipta Persada Holds Public Consultation on High Conservation Value, High Carbon Stock and Social Impact Management
Merauke – PT Agriprima Cipta Persada (ACP) proactively convened a public consultation on August 15-16, 2024, in Merauke. The discussion delved into the assessment of high conservation value areas (HCV), high carbon stock (HCS) areas, and the effective management of social impacts (SIM) arising from the company's operations.
The event, attended by a diverse range of stakeholders including government representatives, academics, environmental organizations, indigenous communities, and media, served as a valuable platform to explore the implications of HCV and HCS management on indigenous peoples within PT ACP's operational area. Participants also addressed the broader challenges associated with preserving these critical ecosystems.
Through this public consultation, PT ACP demonstrated its commitment to open dialogue with various stakeholders. The company aims to generate comprehensive recommendations that not only address environmental concerns but also prioritize the well-being of local communities.
Prior to this consultation, in April 2024, PT ACP had conducted an initial outreach to the Merauke District Environmental Agency to introduce the company and its operational activities. Additionally, the company engaged in a specific consultation with 16 clans who possess customary rights in the vicinity of its operations, seeking their valuable insights and contributions.
This initiative underscores PT ACP's dedication to responsible and sustainable business practices. The company aspires to foster harmonious relationships with local communities and work collaboratively to safeguard the environment.
